Kelly Rodney Arnold, M.D. was born in Los Angeles, California, where she was introduced to Latino culture. Her family then relocated to Memphis where she lived for many years, but now she calls Chattanooga home. Dr. Arnold pursued a Spanish major through study and travel and received her medical degree at UTHSC Memphis, TN. Her collective experiences inspired Clínica Médicos for the Latino community of Chattanooga. This has been her dream.
Dr. Arnold serves as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at UT COM/Erlanger, where she practices Family Medicine/Obstetrics, and provides educational resources for physicians inclined to care for underserved, uninsured populations.
Dr. Arnold is married to Dr. Justin Arnold, and both of their families are dedicated to medical missions locally and abroad. They have three children who also love being a part of Clínica Médicos.
Philip Sutherland, M.D. was born in Pennsylvania but grew up mostly in the southwest. He moved to Tennessee after graduating high school. He received a BA in biology from Berea College and graduated from the UT Health Science Center College of Medicine in 2011. After completing a family medicine residency at the UT College of Medicine, Chattanooga in 2014, Dr. Sutherland pursued fellowship training in advanced obstetrics at Médicos para la Familia in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Sutherland and his lovely wife, Bethany, now live in Chattanooga with their 5 children. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, reading, and medical mission work.
Born and raised in San Diego, California, Tiffany Good traveled to the Midwest for university, medical school, and residency. She graduated from St. Vincent Family Medicine Residency in Indianapolis, Indiana with an emphasis in Maternal-Child Health and Global Health. Additionally, she completed an Advanced Obstetrics Fellowship in Memphis, TN at Médicos para la Familia. She moved to Chattanooga in 2015 and is passionate about providing excellent and affordable healthcare to all her patients, especially within the Latino community.
Alexandria Cooke, M.D. was born and raised in the metro-Atlanta area, but has spent a significant portion of her adult life in Tennessee. As an undergraduate she studied Biochemistry at Southern Adventist University, received her medical degree from Meharry Medical College, and completed her family medicine residency at UTHSC at Chattanooga in 2019. She has participated in several short-term mission and spent nearly a year in the mission field after college. Currently she is pursuing additional training in the Advanced Obstetrics Fellowship at Clinica Medicos in Chattanooga, TN. She is passionate about serving the underserved and empowering patients to take ownership of their physical and mental health. She hopes to have the opportunity to educate future medical students and residents, as well as serve the marginalized populations in our country. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and a variety of musical genres.
Karla Madrid Rivas, M.D. was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. After graduating from medical school at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, she worked as a primary care physician for two years serving rural communities in Honduras and promoting women’s health care. She then completed an OBGYN residency program at Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital, and moved to the United States due to growing violence in her country. After working for several years in the healthcare field, she returned to residency and graduated from the Family Medicine Residency Program at Mayaguez Medical Center in Puerto Rico in 2019. She completed additional training in Family Medicine Obstetrics at Clínica Médicos in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her goals include serving the Latino community by working as faculty of a family medicine residency program and educating residents and students about cultural competency and caring for the diverse and growing Latino population.She plans to return to Honduras for mission trips in the future. She enjoys traveling and exploring local restaurants with her husband and two kids.
Julia was born and raised in Atlanta, where all the best chicken wings come from. She got her BA in Chinese and anthropology at the University of Georgia, her MA in medical anthropology and qualitative public health research at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and her MS in Physician Assistant Studies at Shenandoah University in Virginia. Julia lived in the D.C. area for 5 years working in a non-profit serving people affected by pulmonary hypertension. Once she realized she wanted to work in medicine, she moved into a Maryland fire station and began working in emergency medical services at several area hospitals, where she solidified her Spanish language skills. Eventually, Julia decided to move back to the the South to be closer to family, mountains, and Dolly Parton. She loves working at Clinica Medicos, learning languages, hiking, and eating Korean food.
Orlando was born Guatemala and lived there until the age of 12. His family then moved to the United States, settling in Colorado for a few years. Eventually they moved to Tennessee, where he completed his high school and collegiate studies He finished his undergraduate career at Lee University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. Orlando now works at Clínica Médicos to continue his training in the medical field as he hopes to become a healthcare provider one day. Outside of work Orlando likes to stay active by running, playing Frisbee, and hiking around East Tennessee. He is thrilled to be working at the clinic as he can serve the Hispanic community of Chattanooga while he continues to gain more knowledge to help him realize his dream of becoming a healthcare professional.
Maria Silva was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Nayarit Mexico. When she moved to Georgia almost 10 years ago, her knowledge of the English language was very basic. For that reason she is conscious of the difficulties that a large part of the Latino community has when it faces an unknown language. Maria enjoys spending her spare time with her family. She is a student at Chattanooga State Community College, majoring in Business Administration. She is very grateful for the opportunity to develop her career in Clinica Medicos and contribute to its mission.
Leticia Jaimes was born in DeLand, Florida and raised in Dalton, Georgia. She currently attends Chattanooga State college where she is studying to become a Nurse. Outside of school she loves to go to the beach and be surrounded by loved ones. She is excited to be a part of the Clínica Médicos team as she loves to take care of others and is always ready to learn and expand her medical knowledge.
